Live-in Assistant
If you are a caring, compassionate person looking to make a difference and ready for a challenge, we invite you to read our Assistants page or contact us for more information. Recruitment for home assistants continues throughout the year.
Casual Support Personnel
Casual support personnel work on an “as needed” basis. The casual support position is an on-call position filling in for regular assistants on leave. We are looking for people who can work flexible hours and are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Become a live-in Assistant at L’Arche Greater Vancouver.
Every year we welcome assistants to live, work and participate in the life of our community. What distinguishes L’Arche is its focus on building meaningful relationships between members with developmental disabilities and assistants.
Assistants often experience their own personal and professional growth as they share daily life with other community members in our homes and community inclusion programs.

Give Your Time
Become a friend of L’Arche by volunteering your time. There are opportunities in various L’Arche homes and in our Community Inclusion Programs.
Volunteer options:
- Volunteering in a L’Arche home
- Neighbours Helping Neighbours or the Emmaus Centre (weekdays)
All volunteers are required to submit a Volunteer Application Form and complete a criminal background check.
Prior to submitting an application form, please review our Volunteer Pre-requisites.
If we have a volunteer opening that matches with your areas of interest and availability, we will contact you to have a further conversation. You are also welcome to get to know us better by participating in our weekly Community Prayer on Wednesdays at 5pm.
