Supported Living Homes

At L’Arche Greater Vancouver, our Supported Living Homes are inclusive communities where adults with developmental disabilities and Assistants live, grow, and share daily life together. Each Home is a vibrant place of friendship, respect, and belonging—where every individual’s gifts are celebrated, and each day is filled with meaning.

Our Supported Living Homes offer adults with developmental disabilities a nurturing place to call home, living alongside supportive Assistants who share life’s everyday moments. Each Home reflects the values of care, inclusion and belonging that define our community life.

Families and friends are integral to our community. They enable greater inclusion, diversity, mutual learning, and understanding. They are invited to join for meals, birthday celebrations, and weekend activities like bowling, movies, and coffee.

Some of the Homes are part of our modern building at 7415 Sussex Avenue in Burnaby, while others are located nearby. All our Homes are fully licensed by the Fraser Health Authority, ensuring the highest standards of personalized, compassionate care.

Life in a Supported Living Home

Life in a L’Arche Supported Living Home is full of simple, beautiful moments. These shared experiences help build genuine relationships and a true sense of family. They include:
  • Sharing meals prepared and enjoyed together
  • Taking part in daily household routines
  • Celebrating birthdays and holidays
  • Relaxing over coffee or tea with friends
  • Enjoying hobbies and group outings

Each member receives individualized support that promotes well-being, personal growth, and a connection to community life. We aim to support the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—within the context of a supportive home environment. Support can be provided for:

  • Daily living and care routines
  • Personal hygiene and health care
  • Advocacy and emotional support
  • Creation of meaningful community connections
  • Medical coordination and communication
  • Celebrating life’s moments, both big and small

Admission Process

Admissions to our Supported Living Homes Program is coordinated through Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). We welcome adults with developmental disabilities who are looking for a supportive, community living experience.

Contact CLBC to express your interest in the Supported Living Homes at L’Arche Greater Vancouver. A CLBC facilitator will meet and assess your or your family member’s needs. Admission is based on program availability, individual needs, and compatibility with our model of care.
