Volunteer
Volunteers are a vital part of life at L’Arche Greater Vancouver. Whether you’re sharing a hobby, lending a hand at events, or simply spending time with our members, your presence helps build a more connected, compassionate community. You may join in meals, play music or games, assist with arts and crafts, help in the garden, or support a Day Program. What matters most is showing up with an open heart and a willingness to connect.

Everyone has something to offer. Whether you’re a student, retiree, working professional, or just someone who wants to make a difference—there’s a place for you here. Our best volunteers are:

- Experience is not required—just a willingness to be present and participate
What You’ll Do
Become a friend of L’Arche Greater Vancouver by volunteering your time with us. Opportunities include:
- Sharing your time and talents in the Supported Living Homes or Day Programs
- Helping with special events, celebrations, and outings
- Volunteering in the l’Arche community or spiritual life activities
- Helping with household tasks or outdoor projects like maintenance, gardening, etc.
- Offer companionship and conversation
Qualification and Requirements
- At least 16 years of age (some roles may require 19+)
- Able to commit to a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
- BC Criminal Record Check (no cost to volunteers)
- Depending on role: Tuberculosis and Immunization Status, First Aid and CPR, or orientation session
